You can search our databases and request VHS video copies of specific shots by noting the Shot number in the database. Each number begins with a prefix which is unique to the database. The following are the database number prefix designators.
Each of the databases is searchable by Subject using the database page search engine. The search should find your subject if it is in any part of the Subject column or the Description column in the database. Animal and bird names are generally listed only in the singular, i.e. macaw, not macaws. Search for a broad group first, then narrow the search based on the results. For example, monkey will locate 9 species of monkey, and heron will locate 12 species of heron. Search will find partial words and is not case sensitive. You can also search for shots by number, i.e. AM2253. You may also search the entire website using the Web search engine, Search. The search results are broader because the search covers all of the databases, but it is less specific and predictable. This search will only search the website outside of the database logs. You must use the search engine at each film or video database to obtain results from within the database. The database uses a code under the Quality, Light, and Audio columns to provide additional details about the shot. Quality E = Excellent Type ( Usually follows the Quality designator in the Quality column) C = Close-up Light S = Sun Audio (Video Shots only) E = Excellent |
